Cherie Marshall

Fused Glass Vessels and Jewelry

Cherie Marshall is a long time Burlington resident and Vermont native who has been making art most of her life. From the first custom-designed outfits that were sewn in her teens to jewelry made with interesting bits of wood discarded during her stint as a cabinetmaker, she has been creating lovely, functional pieces of art for many years.

In 2013 Marshall started studying with glass artist Alyssa Oxley and quickly became engrossed in the enchanting, colorful world of glass art. One of Marshall’s techniques involves creating her own unique patterned bars of glass, which are used to make one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry, bowls and platters. Inspiration is drawn from the natural world and from the work of artists in other mediums which are reinterpreted in her glass work.
