Paul Forlenza

Photographer in Lincoln, Vermont

My photography is my passion.

I am a self-taught photographer influenced by 16th and 17th century Dutch painters' use of natural light. I am captivated by 19th century Albert Bierstadt's paintings of sweeping landscapes. I am mesmerized by 20th century photographer Ansel Adam's use of dramatic contrast in his black and white photographs. I am awe-struck by the painterly quality of the images of Vermont photographer Jim Westphalen whose stunning photographs exhibit his attention to details and subtle shifts in color.

My goal is to use these influences and my vision to create images that remind us of special places and moments. I want my images to provide a space for viewers to hear their own or imagined stories.

I am especially drawn to capturing images of mountains and lakes as well as abandoned buildings, old barns and wooden boats. I particularly like using weather as an element of composition.

I custom print every photograph using professional quality, archival paper and pigment inks. These prints are designed to last 50 to 100 years. Explore my framed or matted photographs at Art on Main and discover an image that resonates with you.
